Crawl Space Solutions
In the greater Virginia Beach area, many of the homes are built with crawl space areas in addition to basements. For a long time, these were created with vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. We do this using a method called encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are sturdy plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that will seal the area totally and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also prevent bugs and animals from moving in the crawl space which will help keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if you need it we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to repair sinking floors above the crawl space.
