Crawl Space Solutions

In our area, many of the homes are built with crawl space areas and not basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, they were created with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. Having open vents allows water to get in when it rains or snows and the vents prevent proper evaporation which results in the humidity level staying too high which can harbor the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is closed off from the weather and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.
We have been working with crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the proper way to seal them off and control the humidity. We do this using a process called encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, which are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that will seal the area totally and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also prevent critters and animals from getting in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is protected, if necessary we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to lift sinking floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

The foundation of your home is easily one of the most important parts. It not only supports the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. When there are foundation problems, usually, they will show themselves as stair stepping cracks in the brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or along the basement walls. You may also notice that the windows and doors will stick when you open or close them or even cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem critical at first, they are all indicative of a sinking or settling foundation which should be looked at by a professional for problems and determine what type of a repair needs to be performed.
It is good that the most common foundation problems stem from similar issues and our experts are very good at spotting these problems. We can offer a repair solution intended for your exact issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you have a uneven foundation, we will implement a series of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
