Crawl Space Solutions

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces and not basements. For a long time, they were created with vents which was intended to increase fresh air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and the vents hinder airflow which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. We have found that up to 50% of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is protected from the elements and controlling excess humidity will increase the overall air quality in your home.
Our team has been working with crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the proper way to close them off and control high humidity. This is done using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that will close off the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop rodents and animals from getting in the crawl space which will keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once your crawl space is encapsulated, if you need it we will install a series of floor jacks to repair sinking floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

The homes foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. If you've got foundation problems, they will generally present themselves in the form of diagonal cracks in your outside brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or across the basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that your windows will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem problematic when you notice them, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for problems and determine if a repair needs to be performed.
It is good that many foundation problems stem from similar issues and our experts are very good at tracking down those problems. We can utilize a repair solution intended for your particular problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If the problem is a uneven foundation, we will install a series of foundation piers to level the foundation. The location and amount of sinking will determine if we use helical or push piers. Both types of piers are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
