Crawl Space Solutions

In the greater Virginia Beach area, there are many homes that are built with crawl space areas instead of basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, they were created with open vents which was intended to increase air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. Up to 50% of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the weather and controlling excess humidity can increase the overall air quality in your home.
We have been working on crawl spaces as long as we have been in business and we know the proper way to seal them off and control high humidity. We do this using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that can close off the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop bugs and animals from getting in your crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if you need it we can install a system of sagging floor jacks to lift sagging floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

Your homes foundation is quite possibly one of the most important areas of the home. It not only supports the building itself but it also creates the basement walls. When you've got foundation problems, normally they will show themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in the outside brickwork, horizontal cracks that run along the foundation or across the basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the windows or doors will not open or close easily or even cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these issues seem serious at first, each of them are indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be installed.
Thankfully, the most common foundation problems stem from similar issues and our professionals are very good at evaluating those issues. We can offer a repair product intended for your particular issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you've got a sloping foundation, we can implement a system of foundation piers to level the foundation. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
