Crawl Space Solutions

In the greater Virginia Beach area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas and not basements. For a long time, they were built with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to 50% of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is closed off from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low will increase the overall air quality in your home.
Our team has been working on crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the proper way to seal them off and control high humidity. This is done using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that will close off the area totally and prevent any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also prevent bugs and animals from getting in the crawl space which will keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is protected, if you need it we will install a series of floor jacks to level sloping floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

The homes foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only supports the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. If you have any foundation problems, they will generally show themselves in the form of diagonal cracks in the brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or across basement walls. You may also notice that the windows and doors will get stuck or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these issues may not seem serious at first, each of them are indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for particular problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be installed.
Thankfully, the most common foundation problems have very similar causes and our experts are very good at spotting these issues. We can implement a repair product designed for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If there is a sloping foundation, we will install a series of foundation piers to level the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
