Crawl Space Solutions

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces in addition to basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, these were constructed with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. Up to 50% of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is protected from the elements and controlling excess humidity can increase the overall air quality in your home.
Our team has been encapsulating crawl spaces as long as we have been in business and we know the best way to close them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that can close off the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop rodents and animals from moving in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is protected, if necessary we can install a system of sagging floor jacks to repair sloping floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

The homes foundation is quite possibly one of the most important parts. It not only holds the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. If you've got foundation problems, they will generally show themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in the outside brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or across basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the doors will stick when you open or close them or even cracks at the corners of them. While these issues may not seem serious when you notice them, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for specific problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be in place.
It is good that the most common foundation problems are caused by similar things and our team is very good at noticing those problems. We can utilize a repair product designed for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you've got a sinking foundation, we can install a system of foundation piers to correct the problem. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
