For many years, these were created with vents which was intended to increase fresh air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that can close off the area totally and prevent any unwanted moisture from entering. This will also prevent critters and animals from getting in your crawl space which will keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage.
